Help View / User Guide Improvements
Nikolozi
Users on the Loopy Pro Forum expressed frustration not being able to view help and use tweak the help at the same time.
2 possible improvements can be made in this area:
- Instead of showing the module help view as a popover, display it next to it arranged like a module, or below/above in between the lanes. (Possibly experiment here)
- Consider generating the User Guide pdf and/or html based on the built-in help views.
> @Nikolozi Personally I think it would be good idea to have a document with all the modules help-texts in once place for quick reference.
> Currently it's not possible to tweak a module while the help text pop-up is displayed as one example.
> Having all the 'help-texts' in a separate document would also make it easier to 'read & study' what each module is intended to do. (Think something like Module Help Reference Document or something similar).
> I know it would add yet another layer of documentation chore but it would also allow potentially new customers to discover what Mela and its modules are capable of doing :)
> Is there any chance of making the help panels at least selectable? That way a user could copy them into a text file for offline use. Without some way to do that, constantly leaving the main interface to go to a help screen, then returning, is not only irritating, but interrupts the flow of using the app.
> Having documentation separate from the app allowing a user to look at the documentation on another screen, an iPad or Mac for example, while experimenting with apps would be the most helpful. Preferably the document would be in pdf form, downloadable from the app's web site.

The Getting Started page has been replaced with the Mela User Guide, available at https://nikolozi.com/mela/user-guide/. It includes the full module reference. If you prefer a PDF version, you can use Safari to save the page as a PDF. However, since the guide is updated every few weeks, I recommend viewing it directly in the browser.

Even though there's now a full user guide with the module reference section, I will leave this open because I think there's room for improvement. Specifically, showing module help in such a way that you can continue to interact with a module.
